2020 Census Adjusted Urbanized Area and Metropolitan Planning Area Boundaries Update

TPO staff have prepared draft boundaries for both the adjusted (smoothed) Census Urban Area as well as the new Metropolitan Planning Area (MPA) and have been meeting with local jurisdictions to review. These boundaries are also currently under review by TDOT and FHWA. An overview of the process used to derive the boundaries will be provided as this effort moves forward for possible formal adoption by the end of the calendar year.
