Agenda Item #5 Pellissippi Parkway Extension Statewide Partnership Program
An application for the 2024 TDOT Statewide Partnership Program (SPP) was submitted by the City of Alcoa as well as on behalf of Blount County and the City of Maryville to request that the Pellissippi Parkway (SR-162) Extension project be accelerated. The application proposed the use of a combination of local funds, property donations and TPO regional Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) funds to be able to start the right-of-way phase sooner than the projected TDOT 10-Year Plan timeframe of 2032. TDOT announced an SPP award to approve this approach on April 7, 2025, which will require a modification to the current TPO FY2023-2026 TIP to allocate funding. Due to this being a new allocation of regional STBG funds, the funding addition and associated TIP modification are being presented for approval to the overall TPO for information and transparency.
