Federal Surface Transportation Funding Reauthorization Update

The current federal transportation funding bill known as the Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA) will expire next year on 9/30/2026. There are efforts already underway by committees in the US House of Representatives to begin drafting base language for the next transportation bill. The Association of MPOs (AMPO), of which the TPO is a member, is tracking the reauthorization progress and is working with other advocacy organizations to convey local/regional perspectives on priorities for the new legislation. AMPO staff will provide an overview and timeline for the reauthorization process along with legislative priorities that reflect member input.
